Following the success of RIS Rubber’s presence at the 2017 Europort event, the company will also be attending the 2019 edition. The Europort show is the international venue for innovative technology and complex shipbuilding.

Europort event in Rotterdam

The Europort show will take place in Rotterdam Ahoy from 5 to 8 November. The focus of the event is specialised vessels featuring intelligent, future-oriented solutions. Rotterdam is the largest port in Europe and is therefore the ideal venue for this event. RIS Rubber has increasingly specialised in the onshore and offshore markets, and attendance at the fair provides an excellent opportunity for us to not only strengthen contacts with existing customers, but also to meet potential new clients.

The onshore and offshore industries are challenging

RIS Rubber is engaged in onshore and offshore activities daily, and these are challenging industries for our company. We are particularly experienced in the development and production of shock pads. These shock pads are used in the jacking-up of platforms for offshore operations. Offshore platforms sail to a location at sea and anchor themselves by locating their jacks on the sea bottom. The shock pads ensure that the forces and vibrations which occur during the lifting of the platform above sea level are adequately absorbed. A combination of these shock pads and smart loading cells shows how the forces are distributed during lifting so that adjustments can be made if necessary. Once the platform has reached the correct height it is secured, and rests on the shock pads. Work such as the installation of wind turbines can then be started.

In addition to the shock pads, RIS Rubber also produces rubber anti-collision fenders. These fenders ensure that large, heavy vessels do not incur damage when berthing alongside quay walls.
RIS also produces jointing material for bottom doors, as well as ball joints and a multitude of other joints used in various onshore and offshore applications.
