Developments around the office building at Pekstraat 7

Painting operation | Ekkelenkamp Schilders

On Friday the 17th of April, we enthusiastically relocated to our new office building at Pekstraat 7 in Lelystad, but our enthusiasm quickly turned to dismay; by Monday the 20th we had established that the premises had suffered from severe water damage. Although most of the water itself was dispersed in a matter of hours, the damage had already been done.

Repairs to the office building

Repair work had to be started as swiftly as possible, and for that reason we moved back to the Pekstraat 2 premises temporarily. The relocation went off smoothly, and by the afternoon we were back at work in our temporary office. Fortunately, the factory was not affected, so operations there were not delayed. Contractors are working hard to repair the new office building, and it is hoped that after the business closure in July we will be able to enjoy our new working environment afresh. Unfortunately, the exact date is not yet known.

Timelapse; the final result

We remain positive in spite of this false start, and we hope to be able to welcome you to our new office building in the autumn. The timelapse record of the entire building process is complete. In the video, the outside of the factory has not yet been painted, but this painting operation – carried out by Ekkelenkamp Painters – has now also been completed. The factory has had a makeover, and now matches the style of our new offices. We are proud to be able to show you the final result:
